When does a child need additional support?
Teachers assess children’s progress every day and teaching and learning is adapted to suit the need of all children in their class. Some children may need additional support with certain aspects of their learning, their behaviour or their social and emotional development.
What should I do if I think my child is in need of additional support?
In the first instance, please speak to your child’s class teacher who will discuss how your child is supported in class. Following that discussion the class teacher will then liaise with Mrs Benson (Head of Inclusion / SENCo) in order to discuss any addition provision that may be necessary.
Partnership with Parents
Parents and carers are the first teachers of their children and have the most significant influence in enabling them to grow and mature. At Letchmore Infants’ and Nursery school we aim to work in partnership with our parents to support your child’s development and progress. We will regularly send out details of courses and workshops which parents may find useful so please look out for these on our emails and the weekly newsletter.
